Well,today is my first day in the financial capital of the world and Adit came to receive me from the Airport.It was 8 am and the weather was just fantastic.It had rained the night before and then came sunshine as I entered the streets.Wwe came to Vineesha's place and aunty,uncle,pinki and monty were all waiting to welcome me.
Adit picked up some bagels on the way for breakfast so we had a good breakfast at the house.had good muffins from dunkins.
Surprisingly I had no Jet Lag and wa all ready to party.We were to head out to the city in the evening as it was adits cousins bday.we finished our luch at about 4sh and then headed to the mall near long island and the malls are great here.had a glimpse of Victoria secrets too.Took a massage at the mall thru the vendor machines and the stuff you get here is just out of this world.will do my shopping towards the end of the trip though.
We reached adits place at times square at about 7 pm and then had a couple of beers..I believe that there is a restaurant here where you get 88 kind of beers.wow..I have just tasted 2 till now and then had a couple of shots of JD Select.We all headed to this nightclub Kush where I met lavanya too.It was a short meet coz she fainted and fell drowsy.
After that I met some gals from Greece who were also holidaying here and it was great.Anna was her name if I remember..then we guys went to Mc donalds and grabbed a bite and headed back home at about 3:30 am.
Aunty and everyone were decorating the trees and the garden as they had also just returned from nishi-amits wedding...off to bed now.......
Day 2:
Well after a Fun filling day and Night, we all woke up at about 10am and had breakfast.Aunty gave us fried eggs,muffins,juice,bread
I headed to meet bheem but did not meet him as I could not find TGIF's with Monty.The streets of New york r amazing.took plaenty of photographs.we reached adits place and about 7 and then started playing X-Box with karthik and akhil.we headed for a couple of beers to an irish pub and then had chicken rice from the always heard arabic guy here on the streets of New york....
the walk on times square was too good...
we headed back to adits place where these guys saw a movie while I fell asleep and so did pinky...came home early today and am off to celebrate xmas tomorrow at adits place...................
Day 3:
Well after 2 funfilling days, we all got up pretty early on Christmas day and everthing is usually shut in new york this day.My plan was to come to come to the city at adits place and hangaround.the entire day went at nish's place and it was evening by the time I left.At adit's place we had our usual beers and ordered pizzas while playing X Box.Later in the night we went to this pub "OFF THE WAGON" and here we were having beer pitchers.Got introduced to one the most amazing alcoholic games ever played called "beer pong".the best part is that we defeated 2 goras in the game and we were really high by the end of the night.had pizzas and fallafal and by the time we reached home it was 4 am and we all had to get up at 9 am to make an earlt start.................
Day 4:
Got up at 8:30 today and started playing X-Box after having a good cup of coffee and breakfast from the street.Bagels are amazing to eat.we were planning the itenary of the day but by the time we left for queens it was lunchtime so we all wnt for a buffet to Jacksons Inn and had a buffet with Mango lassi.This place is usually filled with spainards and indians.the streets were very peaceful and quiet.we went to the place for a game of pool and ended up staying there for 3 hrs.what a place.55 odd pool table s so very well organised.had a margarita,few coronas and then did grocery and cuty sark shopping.By the time we reached home it was 8:30 and then we saw Blood Diamond(a disturbing movie),had maggi,sambhar maggi at home and then we headed for this pub"1849",had a couple of coronas here too and played pool with goras and I won.
the chicks at the these pubs were too sexy.did not feel like leaving.by the time we left it was 2:00 amd and then we went to have chicken rice at times sqaure and by the time we walked back we were really cold...staright away went to bed...zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Day 5:
wow..today I got up at 8 am and the room was boling like a steam.The
heat of the room was not turned off so I got up so early after having
another late night.Went walking on the streets of times square and it
was a wonderful morning with the sun out and just visited a few stores
and had coffee and bagels.Reached home by 10..quite a walk.
As soon as I reached home we made the plan to go to chelsea piers and
it is the best indoor stadium set up for sports in the world.Played a
round of golf which I was quite bad at and then played baseball in the
batting cages where I was too good.I should have been a baseball
player.
Amit and nish were arriving today so could not make it a late night in
the city so after lunch which we had at 5:30 at an irish restaurant
and sabrina was our waitress.had the best food in town till now,the
american cheese bacon burger with hoggard beer..again a
speciality...then just headed back to adits place and left for
hicksville station.met amit and nish at the house.aunty and pinky had
prepared a good house warming greeting for them..slept early today as
the sightseeing was starting from tomorrow....
Day 6:
Today we all woke up early to make the plan for the day and had aloo parathas for breakfast.aunty makes amazing food.all mothers do.
monty and the visitors were heading for the cruise today at pier 17 and it was a fantastic experience.we got to see the entire skyline of new york and took amazing photographs.Saw the statue of liberty too.before that we had hot dogs from the street and wow....after the cruise we went to the mall on pier 16 and took a few snaps of the sunset and had donuts and coffee and then headed out for the village and did lil shopping.We then headed for wallstreet and saw the bull and took good snaps with it.
After that we visited ground 0 where the 9/11 attack had happened.it was a very emotional moment and one could feel the coldness being at that place.Just too cold that place was.We then headed for times sqaure and then went to the House of brews where we all got drunk to the T.There we met the most sweet bartender GIL and she was a darling.I even asked her out.we then headed for SOB's and these guys took me without amit,nish etc.....what a night...too many beers....phew...
Day 7:
after a late last night I was staying over in times square at adi's
place and we guys after partying at SOB's slept at about 4:30 am.I
woke up at 7:30 and left for long island.This was going to be my first
trip to long island all by myself.I took a cab to 34th street penn
station and then i had to ask the cops to guide me to get the ticket
for long island rail road.the cops here are quite helpful.reached long
island by 9 am and then was waiting for the cab which was taken as a
pool cab so had to wait for people.I reached home in time to
everyone's surprise.had bagels as usual.
We were to leave for the city by 2 but some aunt of nish wanted to
meet amit so she came by.I went to take a power nap but ended up
sleeping for 2 hrs.We left for the mall by 4 and then did some
shopping.Went to pick up pinki and then headed for the village
downtown for dinner at the best it alian restaurant in town called
PAGLIO.The food was just too amazing.I apparently had the best dish on
table(ordered by nishi).we had the in house wine and the 8 of us had 5
bottles and were quite high after the drinks and dinner.before that we
did have a shot of sambooka which tasted like melted strepsils.
After the dinner we headed for off the wagon(no entry),cafe cha(too
high cover charge),sp we ended up going to the belgian bar where I
flirted as usual with 4 firangi chicks.had a couple of hoggard beers
there too.after leaving nilu we all reached home it was 2 am and we
all were poooped..
Day 8:
today we started the day quite late..got up casually at 10..ate
breakfast by 11 and then chilled out at home..spoke to everyone back
home plus spoke to meenakshi and anjali here..today is when I got the
permission from leena to even extend my trip by a few days...yipeeee
today we all decided to just to do shopping and go for a movie which
we did..did loads of shopping from macys,H & M,GAP,A/X,Finish
Line.....spend about 10 k..never ever done so much shopping in my life
till date..had a good snacky dinner at paneera..today was the first
time where i witnessed the bottomless glass of any drink at a
cafe..had too much cola and then we all headed for rocky 6..even
though we were all tired,we managed to pull it thru...a quieter day as
compared to the others plus did not drink for the first time
tonight....
Day 9:
Today being the last day of the year,we all deciding what to wear for
the big evening...even though we are not going to see the ball drop,
we will be in a casino at the Taj in Atlantic city.Started the day
early and went for a satsang to one of nish's family friends.The
wedding couple was meeting evryone back here after their marriage for
a long time.We had lunch and we were visiting one of the porsche areas
in new york city.We came home by 4 and then did some liqour shopping
and then slept till everyone came here as we were gathering from here
to go on the party bus to AC.
What a bus!!!...we guys had a ball and were dancing and drinking on a
moving vehicle for 3 hrs plus after picking some mc donald
burgers...by the time we reached atlantuc city it was 11:15 and we
wanted to see the ball drop on TV.We entered the place and it was
fab..girls,drinks,slot machines,roulettes,poker games,live
dancing...all was present ans what a way to finish the year and start
a new one.At 12 it was a grand moment and then we toasted a champange
and even saw the live dancers up close.
We then went to the main enterance of the casino which is owned by
donald trump.am going to find out as to how one can mnage such a large
business.mindblowing place.everyone was drunk and it was a sight to
see everyone in their own small world.Monty,amandeep,everyone was
high.Played the slot machine for the first time and won 5 $..by the
time we left it was 3:30 am and we were heading back to the city.We
finished the big bottle of champagne in 30 mts.phew and then we slept
for a while............we reached home at 7 and then
slept..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Day 10:
we woke up at 3pm and were just lazing around today.left for the
gurudwara at 7 and then for dinner at indian chineses restaurant.met
some family friends earlier and then came home and saw the video of
the mehndi,shaadi and mujhrah..what a video!!
......"JO GAYA, SO GAYA" is a quote I made...last night while evryone
was sleeping in the bus
Day 11:
we guys visited the vineyards today which is an hours drive away from
long island and we are visiting a vineyard called pinder.Vineyards
visits are the best one can get while one is on holidays here in new
york.We tasted about 7 blends of wines,had crackers and cheese and
even bought a small momento from there,the wine bags.I slept most of
my way to the place and then we headed for a 45 mt drive to the oceans
and saw the sunset on the atlantic ocean.again romance was in the air
and so was the chilly breeze.Would have frozen if we would have been
there longer.
We reachedhome by 6 and then headed to circuit city where I got few
dvd's and nish got a 42 flat screen plasma tv..phew...we then headed
to a diner called broadway at 11 and I had amazing pizza and bacon
burgers....the food here is
amazing....irish,chinese
be heading for Thai...
sight seeing.we left for LIRR to Penn Station where we were meeting
uncle and then heading to the Empire state building..saw the sky ride
and went on the 86th flooe of empire state and took loads and loads of
photographs.we saw the sunset and saw the city light up from up
there.another unforgettable experience..just did not feel like leaving
the place.
then we headed to eat some street steak and is was mouthwatering.Uncle
knows the best places in the city to eat and shop.We then bumped into
nish's family friend who took us to her apartment which is on the 40th
floor and the view from the bedroom is to die for..imagine waking up
inthe morning and seeing the entire city from ur bed..
we then headed to rockerfeller center to meet shilpa and abhishek,saw
ice skating,may do it while i am here and then headed out for a drink
to a lounge..had a THAI ME UP and nish just had 1 drink and was as
usual high,amit also had a JD with coke and was buzzing..we then
headed out to jaya diner and had the most aunthentic thai food in the
city..had chilly chicken soup and amazing rolls,curry etc...had about
3 kinds of margaritas...dirty,apple and leach martinis..by the time we
left it was 11:30 and then took the train back to Long island..monty
was to pick us up but he fell sleepy by the time we reached so we
waited for a cab for 30 mts...reached home and headed straight for the
bed..zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Day 14:
started the day early as I was meeting anjali.we went to this mexican
restaurant called out of the border and by the time i returned it was
time to leave again for the city....had an awesome drink called goldy
rocks..met uncle at broadway as I wanted to do some last minute
shopping..bought perfumes,socks,caps and then met up with akhil at
penn station post which we headed to 515 where we met up with the
entire gang except nilu..it was happy hours and we drank as if there
was no tomorrow..at least i did..had some amazing food and pizzas
too...then we headed to adit's place and chilled there..lost in fifa
with akhil..and then we got some beers..was really pooped as I had 3
large shots of JD also at his place.....being the last night everyone
was making every moment special for me and we even cancelled going to
the club as I did not feel like doing so.....
we as usual headed to chicken rice guy and then departed...monty has
an awesome car..what pick up....longest night in new york city was the
last one and i slept at about 5 in the morning....was really
high......
the weather today was foggy and i could not see buildings......what a
sight it was.........zzzzzzzzz
Day 15: Last Day
Started the day quite early and had to do my pending packing...we guys were heading for IHOP for breakfast but managed only to go to Dunkin Donuts.By the time we reached home it was 2 and then had to leave for the airport.did some shopping at duty free and bought some goggles and ate hotdogs and played video games..what airports you have abroad!!..truly awesome..then was heading for the Alitalia flight and I beleive that I was sitting with the most beautiful girl in the plane..hahaha..reached milan..ate some snacks there..bought booze from duty free and then headed back for amchi mumbai.....
